Chennai’s metal protégés, Blind Image, will continue spreading their musical tentacles far and wide in the New Year too, with planned co-headlining performances at Saarang 2012 and at Metal Asylum Dubai.
Blind Image made the proverbial step-up last year in November, when they flew out to play a series of gigs on the Australian eastern seaboard, rocking out in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Shepparton, besides also headlining Festival Whiplash in Canberra.
That was a start, and their appearance alongside Vildhjarta and Scribe as co-headliners at Saarang 2012 should be the right building blocks. Their show at Metal Asylum Dubai is, of course, the coup de grace, as Blind Image will be able to take Indian metal to a part of the world which isn’t a traditional stronghold of the genre.
The show was conceived by Metality UAE, an organization given to changing the Arab indifference to metal – at least within the more cosmopolitan realms of Dubai.
On the day – 24th of February, to be precise – Blind Image will be sharing the spotlight with the band REMA from Georgia and other local Dubai bands.
Krish, our man from the band, has even promised to carry along CDs of other Indian metal artists to distribute at the show. Like true envoys of our culture, because this be some metal that is totally Indian m/
