It’s Official! After consistently setting the floor on fire innumerable times, dance supergroup Swedish House Mafia have finally decided to call it quits.
Swedish House Mafia is a dance trio consisting of three DJ’s and producers Christopher Hedfors (AKA Axwell), Sebastian Ingrosso and Steve Angello. The trio began working together in 2008, dishing out seven singles, including four Top 10 UK Singles. They’ve even released a compilation album called Until One, which was certified Gold in UK. The supergroup even performed in India at the Sunburn festival in 2009 and 2010.
Desipite their immense success, Axwell, Angello & Ingrosso have decided to part ways and focus on their solo careers. This decision was communicated through an announcement on their website, posted on June 24th. It read:
“Today we want to share with you, that the tour we are about to go on will be our last. We want to thank every single one of you that came with us on this journey. We came, we raved, we loved.”
The farewell tour will see Swedish House Mafia perform at England, Ibiza, Spain, Ireland and, of course, Sweden. The group will also be performing in this year’s edition of the annual outdoor festival Tomorrowland, sceduled to be held in Belgium on 27th July. The final leg of their journey will be unveiled in August.
