There is a very fine line between rocker and cartoon. And Slash just erased it.
The inevitability of it all does nothing to lessen the shock. We’ve seen him age, yet it seems incongrous knowing that the rockstar with the fabled ‘appetite for destruction‘ and lead guitarist for the erstwhile ‘most dangerous band on Earth‘ (Guns ‘N’ Roses, yeah) is now a Dad, soon to be a cartoon.
Yes, Saul Hudson, deified as Slash, will be the latest celebrity patron of Phineas and Ferb TV cartoon series by appearing in flesh (and animation) in their latest Disney Channel original movie, titled Phineas and Ferb: Across the 2nd Dimension.
It’s all still badass, as Slash walks in and plugs his amps, till he flicks a switch on the amp and turns into a cartoon. Or a cartoon posing as Slash, more like. He gets up on stage with Phineas and Ferb and they jam out to ‘Kick it up a notch’, which is fun alright.

This movie premieres on 30th September on Disney Channel UK, just in time for the start of ‘Ferbtober‘. It’s probably a good opportunity to introduce your kids to rock, albeit with the flamboyance of Disney.
This is also a good opportunity to appreciate the contribution of Phineas & Ferb to original music. The duo has churned out many a cartoon charbuster that’s all lyrical spunk & infectious beats.
