After seven years the velvet voice of India, Pankaj Udhas has decided to tour South Africa again. He will be performing at the Durban International Conference Centre (ICC) on May 27 followed by another show in Johannesburg at Emperors Palace on June 5.

Pankaj Udhas started off his musical career at the age of six and now has fans all over the world. He entered the film industry with his hit number Chitthi Aayee Haii from Naam. In the 70’s Pankaj Udhas started gaining interest in Ghazals, learned Urdu and later pursued his career has a Ghazal singer.

The last time Pankaj performed in South Africa was in 2006 and this will be the first time he performs at International Conference Centre. Having travelled to South Africa several times before, the singer knows the people’s taste in music. He has prepared songs from the 70’s and 80’s and also plans to sing Ghazals from his albums at the concert. The Padma Shree award winner has had talks with the concert organisers to ‘come out and meet other people’ after his concert. Pankaj says,“I am very keen to do that. Normally we escape through the back door after performances but I want to see if it’s possible to see the people”. Looks like the ghazal singer has made the perfect come back.
