Bhayanak Maut woos Bollywood

Bhayanak_maut

Bhayanak Maut, the seven-year-old Indian heavy metal band, were approached recently to share a track from their album. The director of Anurag Kashyap’s next film was so impressed with one of their live performances that he wanted it to be a part of his film. What does this mean for the band? Are they tempted to transition to Bollywood?

Bejoy Nambiar, the director of Shaitan which is the next production venture of Anurag Kashyap, saw Bhayanak Maut play Habemus Papum live. He loved the track which is fast paced, energy filled and a huge fan favourite and chose it. The track is from their untitled 2009 album and wasn’t composed for the movie.

The band had no problems sharing the track with the film but they think this will be their only experience with Bollywood. Speaking to IANS Rahul Hariharan the drummer of BM said, “Honestly we are not really open to films. We are a heavy metal band. This just came our way. We didn’t go looking for it. We don’t see a viable relationship between our band and Bollywood. It sort of worked here because Bejoy needed one hard paced song for this sequence.” Though this opens doors for Bollywood offers to come pouring in, they refuse and resist the temptation.
