American country pop music band Lady Antebellum think touring and summer camps are alike.
Band members Charles Kelley, Hillary Scott and Dave Haywood have achieved huge success lately – including being awarded the best country album award at this year’s Grammys for We Own the Night.
Speaking about their tours, Dave says, ‘There are definitely times when you miss your bed, but you get used to the routine of [touring]. It kind of feels like summer camp.’
The male members of the group have made a special allowance for Hillary. She has a separate section on the tour bus, which includes her own bathroom.
“I have my own bed, and a bathroom back there, so I do get my space. I have a TV and anything I could ever need. I don’t have a refrigerator, but I would never come out if I did!” she says. Dave adds, “There were one too many times I forgot to put the toilet seat back down, so she put her own bathroom in the back!“
Charles revealed that they are currently planning a tour of Europe which they hope will win them some new fans.
‘We want to be doing this as long as The Eagles and Alabama, all those other great groups that have come before us,’ Dave said.
