Katy Perry to Make ‘Dark’ Music in Post-Divorce Album

Known for her light-hearted pop music, singer Katy Perry will explore darker avenues with her upcoming studio album.

Stemming from her split from comedian Russell Brand, she will channel her emotions into her new album to make it “dark“.

My music is about get real dark. I’ll be shoe-gazing. You’ll never see my face because my hair is in my face.” Perry said. Apparently, her failed marriage has inspired her to vent about the break-up through her lyrics.

Her new song, Part of Me, is believed to be the product of her estranged marriage. The singer recently performed it at the Grammy Awards and was said to have changed the line You can keep the dog / I never liked him anyway to You can keep the diamond ring / it don’t mean nothing anyway to reflect her newly-single status.
