Indian singer Shaan a.k.a Shantanu Mukherjee has been appointed the ambassador of an anti-tobacco campaign by the Health Ministry and Salaam Bombay foundation.
A music video ‘Life Se panga mat le yaar’ has been specially composed by him to discourage the youth from smoking. All the music channels will be airing this video in the coming weeks.
“I relate closely to the issue. I lost my father when I was 13-year-old because of his fondness to tobacco. That time I was a 13-year-old. So, without giving any second thought to it, I took up this project and will always contribute my best to it,” said Shaan, while launching the campaign.
The renowned singer says he will try to distance himself from future projects which promote smoking. He intends to thrown in a word in his forthcoming concerts as well, to raise awareness.
Smoking comes with the risk of developing mouth ulcers, cancers and various dental problems. It increases the production of acids in the stomach, which often leads to ulcers and heartburn. Tar can also cause cancer of the throat and the esophagus.
Support Shaan in his campaign, add years to your precious lives & stop smoking TODAY!
