Reviewer Rating:
4.1/5
(4.1)

An alumnus of Full Sail University in Florida, Ashwin Vinayagamoorthy holds a degree in recording arts and has received professional training in piano and classical singing. Making his debut, Ashwin composed the music of the American horror thriller The Horrible 4: RESOLUTION in 2014, three years after which, in 2017.

he made his Tamil film debut with the Arvind Swamy and Trisha Krishnan-starrer Sathuranga Vettai 2. The same year, he also composed the music of Vijay Balaji’s comedy-drama Vidhi Madhi Ultaa, starring Rameez Raja and Janani Iyer in the lead. The talented musician is back with his latest release “Naan Inge” and that’s what we are reviewing here.

’Naan Inge’ is a moody, atmospheric song that tries to capture the feeling of being inside the head of a person in pursuit of something. It could be love, a dream or a destination.

The economical, mostly beat-driven tune clocks in at just over three minutes, but has enough nuances and variety in it to be a little universe in itself. “Naan Inge” charts a delightful chord progression through some dreamy ambient sonic textures. It is textually full of little surprises and details. The mid tempo groove of “Naan Inge” is deep and profound with lush instrumentation played alongside some great vocals of Ashwin Vinayagamoorthy.

Even though all the sounds used on the track aren’t something new, Ashwin Vinayagamoorthy has served up some intriguing combinations of those familiar ones. Ashwin Vinayagamoorthy is here, and he is here to stay.

Verdict: Breezy.
