Evanescence have revealed that their long awaited album release is due on the 4th October 2011
After a lot speculation regarding the third album, Evanescence have finally announced the release date for the album. The band had started work on their new album in February last year and intended on releasing it in August or September the same year. However, on June 21, 2010, Amy Lee (vocalist & pianist) announced on EvThreads.com that they had temporarily left the studio to work further on their compositions and “get our heads into the right creative space”. Lee also said that Wind-Up Records was going through “uncertain times” which would further delay the release of the album.
According to a press release from Wind-Up, the band resumed working in the studio in early April last year. The album was scheduled for release by producer Steve Lillywhite athough Lee later said that “Steve wasn’t the right fit” and has since been replaced by producer Nick Raskulinecz, who has produced music for the likes of Alice in Chains and Foo Fighters.
In a recent interview with Billboard.com, Lee said “We’re just getting excited to get back out there, It’s been a long time and it’s been a lot of work. We’re starting to really hear [the music] back and feel like, ‘Whoa, it’s almost there.” She also revealed that the band intend to tour Europe for about three weeks in support of the new release.
Evanescence will perform at Rock on the Range in Winnipeg on August 20, 2011. They are also going to perform on Rock in Rio on October 2, 2011 alongside Guns N’ Roses and System of a Down as well as Brazilian attractions Pitty and Detonautas Roque Clube.
