One of the most influential metal bands of all time meets a sport surrounded by precision, adrenaline, and glamour. The result? One weekend of pure colossal mayhem!
Come October 28th, India will see two epic ‘firsts’ namely, the first ever Indian Grand Prix taking place at the Buddh International Circuit in Noida, and the first ever appearance of heavy metal superstars ‘Metallica’ on Indian soil.
What do these two have in common you might ask? The answer is two words – F1 Rocks!
F1 Rocks is an enterprise that brings some of the biggest names in music to cities world over while they play host to a formula one weekend. The quintessential F1 weekend is known for its dramatic qualifying, race day, and after party events – to which F1 Rocks is the latest addition. The enterprise has organized concerts with artists such as Beyonce, Black Eyed Peas, Eminem and Jamiroquai.
At a press conference on Thursday, F1 Rocks officially announced that Metallica would headline the fest – being the first truly ‘rock’ band to play at one of their concerts. The concert promises to be larger than life.
If you are wondering who will open for this legendary band, MTV India in collaboration with F1 Rocks is launching a nationwide talent hunt and a reality TV show that will document the search for a supporting act.
Counting down to their first performance in India, Metallica commented that “We are so excited to be playing a show in a place we never thought in our wildest dreams we’d get to play. It’s an honour for all of us that we get to be a part of that whole music scene as a metal band sharing our music with fans in India at this incredible concert!”
