Youngest Two battle it out in American Idol finale

Americanidol

When the tenth season of the hugely popular American Idol came to a close last week, it was a night of many firsts. From the finalists being two country singers to the first male 17-year-old winner, this Idol finale had it all.

The reality television singing competition American Idol successfully completed its tenth season yesterday. This season saw a number of changes including controversial judge Simon Cowell leaving the show. The show ended with many surprises too. The youngest two competed for the title and both were country singers. A record 122.4 million votes were cast following the penultimate episode making the total votes for season 10 more than 10 million, the highest for any Idol season so far.

The one who walked away with the coveted title and a record deal was Scotty McCreery, a 17-year-old from Garner, North Carolina. Lauren Alaina, the other finalist and 17-year-old didn’t quite live up to the promise she showed in her audition.

Can we expect such a successful season of American Idol again or is Simon Cowell’s The X Factor USA going to steal the thunder?
