Update: Comedian Demetri Martin to host the TEC Awards at NAMM 2018!

Fresh off his ‘Let’s Get Awkward” tour, comedian Demetri Martin is going to begin his year as the host of the 33rd Annual NAMM TEC Awards, January 27.

“I am looking forward to hosting the NAMM TEC Awards,” said Martin. “As a mediocre amateur musician who knows very little about professional sound and audio production, I feel uniquely unqualified for the gig! It should be fun.”

Don’t be fooled by his modest response. Martin has an impressive and growing portfolio of work as an American stand-up comedian, director, actor, artist, musician and writer.

His most popular work includes his contributions to “The Daily Show” and his “Comedy Central” show, “Important Things with Demetri Martin;” a well-known stream of consciousness sketch and variety show. He has appeared on David Letterman, written for Conan O-Brien and also received the prestigious Perrier Comedy Award in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Today, Martin is a New York Times best-selling author of “This Is a Book, Point Your Face at This” and most recently, “If It’s Not Funny It’s Art.”

His stand-up routines are usually accompanied by an acoustic guitar and harmonica, as he plays soft melodies behind his jokes. Martin’s keen sense of observation and dry delivery have made him one of the most beloved comedians of this generation.

The TEC Awards audience is expected to be thoroughly entertained.
