84-year old Ghazal maestro Mehdi Hassan was recently hospitalized following respiratory problems. Earlier reports of him being critical and on a ventilator were invalidated by the doctors.
There were even reports stating he’s passed away. However, his son Asif Mehdi confirmed that the death rumours were fake.
In fact, latest reports suggest that he’s on the way to recovery and will be out of the hospital in no time. Currently at Agha Khan University Hospital in Karachi, he has been shifted from the special care unit into a private room.
We sincerely wish Mehdi Hassan ji a speedy recovery.
