Madonna’s Frozen Hits No.1 – March 7th, 1998

[youtube_video id=sjut1JMdqEs]

I’m not too big on Madge except for this song. It hit the number one spot on this day way back in 1998. It’s however more famous for the controversy it raked in after a Belgian court ruled withdrawal of sales on account of plagiarism. To which I say, no wonder.

Thats how Belgians see her. BWAAHAHAHA. Apologies for imagery.

Do you see any similarity?

Many would say that it’s all in the ear of the listener. Nevertheless, this song is a beauty & did exceedingly well in the countries where it mattered.

This reminds me of another song. From the obscure land of Swedish pop, comes Lykke Li with this single I Follow Rivers. Raw & mournful is what best describes it. The video reminds one of Frozen’s similar dark, hopeless appeal. She’s one Nordic songstress you want to watch out for. Her album Wounded Rhymes was one of the better albums of last year; full of indie promise.

Something very Frozen about these Rivers.

Is there something very Lady Gaga about her?
