Lit Happu and Sez On The Beat’s Ki Honda is a wavy auto-tune- laden reality check of a song: Score Indie Reviews

2020 seems to be one hell of a year for Delhi-based rapper Lit Happu
who dropped his debut EP Issa Vibe which was produced by hip-hop
titan Sez On The Beat. In his latest single Ki Honda (which will be
featured on Sez’s upcoming EP), he joins forces with Sez yet again,
making a relaxingly bittersweet Punjabi track laden with auto-tune flows.

Even though auto-tune is a staple in hip-hop and its subgenres, using it
can still be a slippery slope for many Indian rappers. But Happu’s vocals
resonate a certain mood with auto-tune. This mood feels soulful, smooth, and very genuine. Sez’s beats instantly hook the listeners and make them bob their heads even though Happu’s lyrics can be tragically real for many.

Lit Happu enters a very introspective mood as he elaborates on an
artist’s quest to earn money and fame every day and yet struggling for a
few extra bucks and loans every now and then. It’s cynical yet realistic
nature coupled with Sez’s masterful production make it a multi-layered
track with a high repeatability factor. If anything, Ki Honda goes on to boast Happu’s melodic brand of melodic auto-tune driven rapping and Sez’s eye for consistently supporting upcoming talents from the scene.

Verdict: Ki Honda shows that Lit Happu is building his own unique brand
of wavy and thoughtful rapping and Sez On The Beat is constantly
crafting one banger after the other.
