‘Jabra Fan’ released only a week ago. It has already gathered 6.5 million views on YouTube, sprouted loads of reaction videos from fans, and even has a mashup video with ‘Uptown Funk’. We’re loving the song, the responses and the buzz its generation for ShahRukh’s otherwise song-less movie, Fan.
Here is Vishal Dadlani, the music composer of ‘Jabra Fan’, talking about its ins and outs. Vishal describes the making of it as an ‘intellectual process’. He explains how the song is not about ShahRukh Khan, but about the fan who could have been inspired by any hero.
“It’s a song about being a fan. It can be anyone in this world who you are connected to, as a fan… In effect, all of us have at some point or the other, felt that kind of an emotion to an icon or an idol we look up to. Without trying to attach it to a particular person, the whole process was effortless because it was genuine.”
