‘Shadow and Light’ recently released their first official music video called ‘Dua’. It was also their debut TV appearance at MTV Indies. Experimenting with the pop cinematic genre, Delhi’s well known Anindo Bose and Pavithra Chari have hit the right notes.
The vocals emanate an easy Indian feel with the piano and guitar hovering behind to create a psychedelic and catchy sound. The unconventional rhythm on 6/8 with some shorter bars for transitions keep the listener hooked and surprised. The piano solo is straight and soothing, strongly reminding one of the Advaita keyboardist in Andindo. The lyrics, though simple, are beautiful and meaningful.
The video complements the sound beautifully. Listening to ‘Dua’ will definitely get you looking for more songs from their album ‘Elements.’
