Crosby and Nash cover Miley Cyrus

Crosbystillsnashyoung

Graham Nash and David Crosby covered Miley CyrusParty in the USA on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon yesterday. The rendition garnered much applause and not to mention much laughter.

The American talk show Late Night with Jimmy Fallon has featured many musicians since its inception. Yesterday it had on its guest list Graham Nash and David Crosby of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, the band known not only for the immense success of their music but also their political activism. The faux Neil Young who has an affinity for folksy versions of pop songs, covered with Crosby and Nash Miley Cyrus’ Party in The USA. The rendition was of course beautifully harmonized but we couldn’t help laughing hard when they sang “Noddin’ my head like ‘yeah’. Moving my hips like ‘yeah’.”

This isn’t the first time such a comic cover was performed on the show. Bruce Springsteen and Fallon sang Willow Smith’s Whip My Hair last November. Are new popstars fodder for amusement for veterans? If CSNY, credited with having made the boldest musical statement against the Vietnam War in 1970, makes fun of parties in L.A and whipping hair, we aren’t complaining.
