Circle of Love is all set to be Chennai’s ‘first boutique festival’ – Score short Reads

Circle of Love is a Chennai-based independent music community platform that aims to contribute further to India’s artistic diversity. One of its means for achieving this goal is to set up what it refers to as the ‘first boutique festival’ of its kind in Chennai, celebrating some of the leading and upcoming indie musicians from the entire country.

The ’boutique’ element stems from the fact that the celebration wouldn’t just incorporate music but also food and art. The ticketed event is to be held at Radio Room from October 15 to 16 with entry open to anyone above 21 years of age. With 20 artists and 2 stages, the event would be supported with themed décor, installations, visual art, culinary curations, and more. The on-stage ensemble includes artists like Stalvart, Skip, Mali, Nikhil Chinapa, Kayan,Manny, Jbabe, and many more.

The last time Circle of Love was in the news was when the company launched its own multigenre record label of the same name. For those who are unacquainted with its history, Circle of Love was founded by the aforementioned Sameer Sethi. An entertainment innovator behind cultural events such as Sunburn, Sensation India, Filmfare Awards, Mirchi Music Awards, Sethi was the one who conceptualised the fest. On the other hand, the curation was handled by Manny, a renowned underground music expert and one of the most established DJs in India today.

To put it in Sethi’s words, “We’ve always believed that India’s independent music scene deserves major events, on par with other genres, and our boutique festival is the first of its kind to be held here in Chennai. Our aim is to put Chennai on the map as a destination for lovers of indie music, thus creating bridges between the artists and the audiences in the city and those elsewhere in the country.” Manny adds that The curation of 20+ artists is an eclectic mix for a fresh experience in Chennai.
