Amy Winehouse has made it to the headlines again. This time, it is not because of her struggle with alcohol or drugs, but because of a consequence of it.
The troubled singer was booed by fans at an open-air concert in Belgrade after she slurred her words, stumbled around the stage and appeared to be too drunk to perform. During the concert which lasted about 90 minutes Winehouse could only mumble some of the lyrics, failing to follow her band.
“I paid my weekly salary, 38 euros ($54) for this concert and I knew of her troubles, but the organisers should have cancelled it to let us, her fans, remember the real Amy.” said Bojan Petrovic, a 35-year old teacher from the southern Serbian town Nis.
She was also due to perform in Istanbul and in Athens as a part of her tour. However, she apologised to fans and cancelled the gigs as she has realized that she “cannot perform to the best of her ability.”
The singer reportedly ended an alcohol rehabilitation programme in London two weeks ago and local media reported that alcohol had been banned for the tour.
