Sony Entertainment Television’s singing reality show Indian Idol 9 had its grand finale yesterday with some spectacular performances. After giving tough competition to others for three long months, LV Revanth emerged as the winner of the show. The singer was pitted against PVNS Rohi & Khuda Baksh, but Revanth managed to walk away with the trophy and a prize money of Rs 25 lakhs.
Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar handed over the trophy to Revanth. Judges Anu Malik, Farah Khan and Sonu Nigam were also present on the finale night.
Revanth, who hails from Vishakhapatanam, is not a new comer to the world of singing as he has lent his voice to some of the biggest projects including Baahubali. His song Manohari also made him win the IIFA Utsavam award. Giving up on many Telugu projects, the singer participated in the reality show apprehensive of his Hindi diction. He took the biggest risk of his life and put his career at stake for this show. Nevertheless, his hard work and perseverance paid off to make him the winner of the Season 9 of Indian Idol.
