The folks over at Coke Studio @ MTV spill the beans about what’s waiting for us in season 2.
The wait is almost over, as after a successful first season, Coke studio is all set to hit the screens again.This time around, each episode of the show is going to be produced by a different producer. In addition to Nitin Sawhney, Karsh Kale, Amit Trivedi, Ehsaan Noorani, Loy Mendonsa, Clinton Cerejo, Shantanu Moitra and Hitesh Sonik, the following artists will be performing on the second season of the show: Jalebee Cartel, Usha Uthup, Swanand Kirkire, Shilpa Rao, Kaushiki Chakrabarty, Harshadeep Kaur, Noora Sisters, Hari and Sukhmani, Papon, Dhruv Sangari, La Pongal, Agam, Saawan Khan Mangniyar, Mame Khan, Piyush Mishra and Shankar Tucker.
“Coke Studio brings together the various folk sounds of India. We as artistes are getting an opportunity to experiment with new sounds and compose original music which isn’t based on any story ideas” said Shantanu Moitra, whose genius is behind films like 3 idiots, Lage raho munnabhai and others. “It’s quite challenging to produce music and jam with musicians on a live platform.”
