Blind Image pay musical tribute to Joint Family and to late Them Clones Bassist and Joint Family band member, Clarence Gonsalves.
The Blind Image tribute
Blind Image is a Thrash/Groove metal band from Chennai that exploded on the music scene in 2006. They have recorded two albums so far, and the band has recently been doing a lot of touring, headlining music festivals in the middle East and Australia.
Blind Image chose Juggernaut(A song by Joint Family from their 2007 album ‘HotBox) after plenty of contemplating.
Band Manager, Krishna commented saying, “When we were contemplating on the idea of recording a cover, we considered a lot of songs. We considered stuff like Metallingus – Alter Bridge, Two Minutes To Midnight – Iron Maiden, Fight Fire With Fire – Metallica, Baba ‘o’ Riley – The Who and a few more”.
But, it wasn’t long before the band settled on Juggernaut, says Krishna in his PR release – ‘Then we thought, why not an Indian band?! I have always been a very strong believer that Indian bands make real good music, as good as some international bands and probably even better than some international bands. And what better band then Joint Family, a band that I have always personally admired and appreciated.’
Incidently, the band came across this song on a compilation CD they got along with RSJ. They instantly got hooked on to it and it created an enormously addictive impression on Krishna. Blind Image couldn’t pass an opportunity to show their respect to the band. The band hopes that their effort will strengthen the unity of Indian metal heads across the country and it will stand testament to the camaraderie and mutual respect shared within the Indian metal community.
Blind Image has been busy recording their third album with Lakshman, a protégé of A.R . Rahman, at the helm as producer. He also worked with the band on their previous album More than human. The band has now taken a break from the studio to gear up for their upcoming tour of South East Asia
