All of us are familiar with the repercussions of being ‘talli’ – meaning drunk.
“Talli hai yeh zameen,
Talli hai aasmaan,
Sab talli hai yahaan…
Yaa phir saara jahaan,
Vaise ka vaisa hai,
Hum talli hai yahaan…”
At some point in time, we’ve all experienced it – be it with alcohol or just the enthusiasm of life. And this seems to have been wonderfully caught in Karan Johar’s latest production ‘Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu’ starring Imran Khan and Kareena Kapoor. For those not in the know, the movie’s about a drunken escapade in Vegas resulting in two strangers getting married. An inspired version of ‘Fools Rush In’ meets ‘What happens in Vegas’, eh?
Eitherway, the official title track is out and it seems to be the perfect setting for a hardcore romantic comedy.
Sung by Benny Dayal, Anushka Manchanda & Shefali Alvares, the song’s an extremely catchy-funky-peppy background number interspersed with an infusion of Anushka’s addictive calls of ‘Ek Main’ & ‘Ek Tu’.
The song gives off a very happy feeling with the gist being:‘Either the world is drunk, or everything is the same but we’re drunk. So don’t leave, don’t get lost, don’t worry and only smile, because whatever happens, I will be with you.’ Ah, sappy love!
After such a wonderful introduction to the music of the movie, we now have to patiently wait for the OST to hit the stores in early-January.
Stay tuned for the music review of ‘Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu’ (with an extra ‘k’).
