After her European tour, the multitalented Anoushka Shankar will be touring India to take your breath away.
Pandit Ravi Shankar’s genius daughter, Anoushka Shankar, is known for venturing into the unknown realms of experimental music. The music wraps around you, like a deliciously warm cocoon, transcending boundaries that you never knew even existed.
First Indian to play at the Grammy awards, she has released multiple critically acclaimed albums and has appeared as a guest vocalist on recordings of bigwigs like Sting, Lenny Kravitz and Thievery Corporations.
After an immensely successful European tour, Anoushka will be touring India from January 13th to February 4th. Her jam packed itinerary includes concerts in:
Mumbai – January 13
Delhi – January 15
Jaipur – January 19
The tour will end on February 4 in Kolkata.
The highlight of the tour would be Anoushka playing music from Traveller, her debut album on Deutsche Grammophon, which twines flamenco with Hindustani strains creating an exquisite combination of virtuosity. The album is brave and innovative, with things that have hardly been experimented with before.
