JBL Music Academy 2026: Empowering the next generation of global music talent

With mentorship from Martin Garrix, Benson Boone, and a continued association with A.R. Rahman, JBL Music Academy returns with a bigger vision for emerging artists.

For decades, JBL has been synonymous with sound. Whether on festival stages, in recording studios, at sporting events, or in the hands of everyday listeners, the brand has built its reputation around helping people experience music at its best.

Today, however, JBL’s ambitions extend beyond audio products.

With the launch of JBL Music Academy 2026, the company is once again investing directly in the future of music itself by creating opportunities for the next generation of artists, producers, songwriters, and creators to be seen, heard, and supported.

Now entering its fourth consecutive year in India, JBL Music Academy continues to evolve into one of the most significant global talent development initiatives in the music industry. Built around JBL’s purpose-driven philosophy of “Making Voices Heard,” the program seeks to identify emerging artists and provide them with access to mentorship, exposure, and professional development opportunities that can help accelerate their careers.

platform designed for emerging talent

The modern music landscape offers unprecedented opportunities for independent artists. With streaming platforms, social media, and direct audience engagement tools, creators can reach listeners around the world without relying solely on traditional industry structures.

Yet visibility remains one of the biggest challenges for emerging talent.

JBL Music Academy was created to help bridge that gap.

The initiative focuses on identifying promising artists from diverse musical backgrounds and connecting them with industry leaders, educational opportunities, and a global platform that allows their work to reach wider audiences.

Applications for JBL Music Academy 2026 officially opened on June 1 and will remain open until August 14, 2026.

Artists aged 18 and above can apply by submitting a motivational video alongside up to three original music tracks through the academy’s application platform.

Unlike many competitions that focus solely on performance, JBL Music Academy places equal emphasis on artistic identity, creativity, and long-term potential.

Global mentorship meets local talent

One of the most exciting aspects of this year’s program is the involvement of internationally acclaimed artists Martin Garrix and Benson Boone.

As global ambassadors for JBL Music Academy 2026, both artists will play an active role in mentoring selected participants and sharing insights from their own journeys through the music industry.

Martin Garrix remains one of the world’s most influential electronic music artists, known not only for his chart-topping releases but also for building his own creative ecosystem through STMPD RCRDS. His experience navigating global touring, music production, and artist development makes him uniquely positioned to guide emerging talent.

Joining him is Benson Boone, whose rise from social media discovery to international chart success represents a modern blueprint for aspiring artists navigating today’s digital music landscape.

For Indian participants, the program also continues its long-standing association with A.R. Rahman, whose presence adds another layer of significance. As one of India’s most respected musical visionaries, Rahman’s involvement reinforces JBL’s commitment to nurturing talent within the country’s rapidly evolving music ecosystem.

global stage in Amsterdam

The journey culminates later this year with a flagship JBL Music Academy event at STMPD in Amsterdam.

For selected participants, this represents far more than a performance opportunity.

The event offers access to industry professionals, creative workshops, networking opportunities, and direct exposure to global music communities. Artists will have the chance to showcase their work on an international stage while learning from professionals working across production, performance, songwriting, branding, and artist development.

In an era where international exposure can dramatically accelerate an artist’s career, opportunities like these can prove transformative.

Building the future of music

What makes JBL Music Academy particularly relevant today is its understanding that talent exists everywhere.

Some of India’s previous representatives, including Pratika and Raksheet Ramesh, have demonstrated how diverse and boundary-pushing the country’s independent music scene has become. Their success highlights the growing influence of Indian artists within global music conversations.

As music becomes increasingly interconnected across borders and genres, initiatives that create pathways for emerging talent become more important than ever.

JBL Music Academy is not simply a competition.

It is an investment in future creators.

It acknowledges that the next generation of artists may emerge from a bedroom studio, a college campus, an independent music collective, or a social media platform. What matters is giving those voices the opportunity to be heard.

As JBL celebrates more than 80 years of shaping listening experiences, programs like Music Academy demonstrate that the brand’s vision extends beyond speakers and headphones. It is about supporting the people who create the music itself.

For aspiring artists looking to take the next step in their journey, JBL Music Academy 2026 may be exactly the platform they have been waiting for.
