An Express Tribune blogger has complained about Nicki Minaj’s song “Stupid Hoe.” The song mainly consists of a repetition of the line “You a stupid hoe, you a, you a stupid hoe”. Many times. Too many.
The blogger then goes on to extrapolate to the generally misogynistic nature of popular music these days, and condemn creatively thought lyricists for to “foul language and raunchy lyrics.” (Although how anybody who has, over the years thought of so many different things to snort off a hookers ass-crack, is not creative beats me. Trust me, soon there will be a Jay Z lyric bout doing Chabanprash off a hooker’s asscrack.)
Anyhow, this is not an uncommon concern apparently, because a lot of people have complained about how modern music is generally sexist. Here’s another one. So it falls upon my extremely noble shoulders to come to the defense of ourr poor talent, merely trying to eke out a billion dollar existence in a politically correct world.
Firstly, anybody who’s ever looked at Nicki Minaj could tell you that she’s not actually from this planet.
She’s even got Evil Alien Reptillian Shape Shifting Eyes. Really society, how much proof do we actually need?

So when she says stupid hoe, she’s probably referring to the whole planet, and not a particular sex. Its not sexist so much as it is Earthist. But then again, who can disagree with the fact the the world has recent become stupid hoe-ish? I mean, there are like twelve dance shows on the television and Justin Beiber is quite popular.
“Stupid Hoe” is a great work of social critique. It is not so much a judgement on Nicki Minaj for writing it, as it is on us for listening to it. Oh, and before I forget here’s the song. See if you can resist clicking on that Youtube link.

Oh and you should definitely read the comments. There’s a lot of bile and ridicule down there, but it still has over 65 million views. Which means one in every hundred person in the world has seen this video. Which translates to insane popularity.George Orwell’s 1984, on the other hand has sold twenty five million copies. Ever.
Both of these things predict the end of the world as we know it. Only George Orwell takes miles of political theory and three hundred odd pages. Nicki Minaj on the other hand, says “Stupid Hoe” for three minutes. So which is a more effective statement?
So let us not fling abuse onto this noble alien any further, and not only because she is likely to vaporise us with her alien eyes. Because when future archeologists unearth our fallen civilization, it is very likely that “Stupid Hoe” will be one of the only things they find. Isn’t that a nice thought?
