Nikhil Barua, Founder of The Humming Tree commented: The Online Violence Against Women campaign, #OVAW, launched by Amnesty International India is intended to address the growing problem of violence and abuse against women which has become a far too common experience across the world. Online platforms and social media are an increasingly critical space for women and marginalised groups to exercise their right to freedom of expression. Amnesty International India’s campaign aims to ensure that women in India can exercise their right to free speech
without the fear of violence and abuse.
