Indian Musicians Tackle Cholesterol With Calm

After terrorism, cholesterol seems to be fast becoming our biggest inimical concern. So, the spotlight came to a long rest on our fight against heart diseases today, especially since it happens to be World Heart Day (Yes, send flowers, not cards)

And part of this exuberant drawing-of-attention celebration of the occasion is a musical collaboration, as Hariharan, Shaan, Sonu Nigam, Shamir Tandon and Anoushka Shankar decided to get together to compose something known as Calm Song.

I’m not sure if it’s a tape record wound around chanting of soothing verses, or if these distinguished singers have taken to imitating whale songs, but it’s primary mandate is stress-busting to keep your heart hale and hearty.

All for a good cause, as they say, in association with Billion Hearts Beating, an initiative by Apollo Hospitals.
